Welcome to the off-kilter world of Blair Martin. Her work combines vibrant
acrylics and a spontaneous style to create a statement that is both amusing and thought-provoking.

The world according to Martin is always seen through decidedly feminine eyes, but her painting defies stereotypes. Her canvases evolve from a combination of fantasy and literary interests. Life in general, painting trips abroad, a dysfunctional family (in an affectionate sense), and years in theater and advertising all influence her art.

Martin is a native Virginian and graduate of the University of Richmond. Her work has been shown multiple times in both Key West and in Asheville, Hendersonville and Tryon, NC. She is an avowed Francophile, a linguist, a collector of Haitian art, and a writer.

Blair resides in Richmond. She is married and has a daughter who is herself an artist. Blair’s two favorite works of art are her two lovely teenaged granddaughters.
